Aurora House strives to provide shelter, long-term trauma counselling, basic needs, and essential support services to those who have been trafficked, exploited or otherwise abused in Canada with a focus on people who identify as women, as well as women with young children and expecting mothers.

Human trafficking is a growing issue in Canada, often occurring in communities large and small across the country. While many believe trafficking happens only across borders, the reality is that most trafficking in Canada is domestic.

About Our Services

Aurora House accommodates space for up to 7 residents who have been trafficked or exploited in Canada. Shared kitchen and living spaces encourage community among residents. We strive to make our services as flexible as possible to meet the diverse and changing needs of survivors who are referred to us.

Our Mission

Aurora House provides transitional housing, long-term trauma counselling, basic needs, and essential support services for those who have been trafficked, exploited or otherwise abused in Canada with a focus on people who identify as women, as well as women with young children and expecting mothers.

Our Vision

For all those harmed by human trafficking, exploitation and other forms of gender-based violence to receive the support and care they need to reach their full potential and thrive in society.

indigenous land acknowledgement

At Aurora House we acknowledge that we are on the treaty lands and territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and pay tribute to their legacy in addition to the legacy of all First Peoples of Canada. Today the traditional meeting place of Toronto is still home to many Indigenous People from across Turtle Island and we are grateful to have the opportunity to work in the communities that have grown in the treaty lands of the Mississaugas. Aurora House acknowledges that we are all treaty people and accept our responsibility to honour all our relations.
