Aurora House strives to provide shelter, basic needs, and essential support services to those who have been trafficked, exploited or otherwise abused in Canada with a focus on people who identify as women, as well as women with young children and expecting mothers.

Human trafficking is a growing issue in Canada, occurring in communities large and small across the country. While many believe trafficking happens only across borders, the reality is that most trafficking in Canada is domestic.

About Our Services

Aurora House accommodates space for up to seven residents who have been trafficked or exploited in Canada. Shared kitchen and living spaces encourage community among residents. We strive to make our services as flexible as possible to meet the diverse and changing needs of survivors who are referred to us.

Our Mission

Aurora House provides transitional housing, long-term trauma counselling, basic needs, and essential support services for those who have been trafficked, exploited or otherwise abused in Canada with a focus on people who identify as women, as well as women with young children and expecting mothers.

Our Vision

indigenous land acknowledgement

At Aurora House we acknowledge that we are on the treaty lands and territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and pay tribute to their legacy in addition to the legacy of all First Peoples of Canada. Today the traditional meeting place of Toronto is still home to many Indigenous People from across Turtle Island and we are grateful to have the opportunity to work in the communities that have grown in the treaty lands of the Mississaugas. Aurora House acknowledges that we are all treaty people and accept our responsibility to honour all our relations.

Help Fill the Gap by Supporting Housing & Services for Survivors

Canada is currently facing a critical shortage of housing and support services for exploited women, expectant mothers, and their children. Many survivors of human trafficking, sexual exploitation, and domestic violence are left without safe shelter, resources, or the long-term care they need to heal and rebuild their lives.

The demand for services far exceeds the available resources, and many organizations are struggling to meet the growing need. Survivors often require comprehensive support, including trauma-informed counseling, legal aid, childcare, and mental health services. However, the lack of specialized housing, overcrowded shelters, and limited funding make it difficult for survivors to access the care they deserve. The issue is further compounded by social stigma, lack of public awareness, and a lack of coordinated services across regions.

Your donation changes that.

At Aurora House, we are committed to filling this gap. We provide safe housing, trauma-informed counseling, and essential support services for survivors as they transition toward independence. Our goal is to offer long-term support that helps individuals heal and rebuild their futures—something that so many survivors desperately need.

We believe that everyone deserves a life free from exploitation. With your support, we can continue offering hope and stability to those who need it most. By becoming a donor, you’re not just giving funds—you’re standing with survivors and helping them access the resources and support they need to reclaim their futures.

Give today. Change a life. Together, we can provide survivors with the opportunity to heal, rebuild, and break the cycle of exploitation.
